Last Friday, the Swedish biathlon team conducted a test race before the season premiere at Idre Fjäll next weekend. Check out how it went!

The Swedish biathlon team has been at Idre Fjäll for a while now, for training camp, ski testing, and media days. During the camp, they focused on getting used to snow and fine-tuning details that differentiate summer roller skiing from skiing on snow. Johannes Lukas tells ProXCskiing.com’s sister site Langd.se that the camp has yielded the results they sought.

“The team’s status is good, and we’ve started the first kilometers on snow very positively. Everyone is a bit extra excited and feels the season is approaching. We’ve had a very good start so far,” Lukas concludes.

The shooting coaches, Johan Hagström and Jean-Marc Chabloz, also emphasize that shooting form is solid.

“This year, we’re only announcing the winners”

During the training camp, a test race is held before the official premiere on November 16–17. The biathlon team is keeping the results under wraps. Furthermore, they only announce the winners in the men’s and women’s categories. Emma Höglund, the biathlon team’s press officer, reveals the winners’ names.

“This year, Hanna Öberg and Sebastian Samuelsson won,” says Höglund, but she remains silent about the top 3:

Can you reveal who was in the top 3?

“No, this year, we’re only announcing the winners.”

The Swedish biathlon season officially starts on Saturday, November 16, at Idre Fjäll.
