Norwegian biathlon teams for the first World Cup and IBU Cup

The biathlon World Cup and IBU Cup season 2024/2025 start in less than two weeks. The Norwegian national teams are now selected.

Kontiolahti, Finland, from November 30 to December 8, and Idre Fjäll, Sweden, from November 28 to December 1, are the places for this year’s biathlon World Cup and IBU Cup premieres, respectively. 

In a press release, the Norwegian Biathlon Union has named their biathlon teams for the World Cup premiere in Kontiolahti and the first IBU Cup in Idre Fjäll.

For the World Cup, Norway will start with 13 athletes, plus 2 reserve athletes in each gender. On the women’s side, Norway will start with 6 skiers. Already on the men’s side, 7 athletes will start for the Scandinavian country. For the IBU Cup, Norway will start with 12 athletes, 6 biathletes on the women and 6 on the men’s sides, plus 2 reserves in each gender.

According to the Norwegian Biathlon Union, “For the World Cup team, six out of seven places on the men’s side were already decided before last weekend’s season premiere at Sjusjøen, while three out of six places on the women’s side had been filled.”
