Reistadløpet
Reistadløpet and Summit 2 Senja, the 13th and 14th events in Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XV, take place this Saturday and Sunday in Norway. Here are all the facts you need to know before the challenging weekend.

Ski Classics Season XV continues with Reistadløpet on Saturday, April 6, from Setermoen to Bardufoss, and Summit 2 Senja on Sunday, April 7, from Bardufoss to Finnsnes. The events feature a challenging terrain and the final Iconic Climbs of the season.

REISTADLØPET

The Ski Classics Pro Tour weekend starts on Saturday with Reistadløpet, the season’s 13th event and one of the circuit’s most demanding courses.

The 50km long-distance race starts in Setermoen, in the municipality of Bardu in Norway, and goes through arctic landscapes and mountain tops before reaching the finish line in Bardufoss in the municipality of Målselv.

So far, no one has won the race by only double poling, as most skiers use diagonal striding and kick wax. The course has challenging climbs to the mountains, but the scenery is breathtaking.

Reistadløpet has a long history going back to 1958. The event celebrates a local ski legend: Colonel Ole Reistad, a Norwegian pentathlon champion in 1922 and the ski patrol leader who won Olympic gold in St. Moritz, Switzerland, in 1928.

SUMMIT 2 SENJA SEASON XIV – VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

SKI CLASSICS ICONIC CLIMBS

The Iconic Climb, launched during Season XIV, is a category in the Ski Classics points table. It is used for the most iconic climbs in Ski Classics.

There will be four Iconic Climbs for Season XV. The third is the Orta Climb in Reistadløpet, and the fourth and final Iconic Climb of the season is the Magdaskaret Climb in Summit 2 Senja.

Orta Iconic Climb

Orta, from 136 to 575m above sea level, 6 kilometers long, with many very steep sections and short flats in between, is the main reason Reistadløpet has never been won without kick wax.

Magdaskaret Iconic Climb

Magdaskaret is the new Iconic Climb for Season XV. Last season, the climb was decisive at the Season XIV Grand Finale, and this year promises the same excitement.
