All You Need To Know In Front Of Reistadløpet

by Leandro Lutz • 01.04.2022
Saturday, April 2, it’s time for Reistadløpet, one of the most demanding courses in the Pro Tour. The 50km Visma Ski Classics race is Season XII’s 13th stage and takes place in Setermoen-Bardufoss, Norway.

The 50-kilometer long-distance event is the northernmost race in Visma Ski Classics and is considered the most demanding course in the Pro Tour.

Reistadløpet starts in Setermoen, which is in the municipality of Bardu in Norway, and goes through arctic landscapes and mountain tops before reaching the finish line in Bardufoss in the municipality of Målelv.

Most Pro Tour skiers use kick wax and diagonal striding when skiing from Setermoen to Bardufoss because of the challenging climbs on the course. But with the development of the double poling technique over the years, expectations are high to see who will be the first winners to double pole all the way until the finish line.

The battle for the Sprint and Climb points will be fierce. There will be one sprint, and two climb checkpoints: Storlømyra Sprint at 5km, Orta Climb at 14km, and Halvor Hill Climb at 31km.

At Reistadløpet, you get to experience “Pure Arctic Madness.”

Don’t miss out on the event, available on Ski Classics Play. The women start at 10:00 CET and the men at 10:30 CET.
