Three events of the Pro Tour of Visma Ski Classics Season XI have already taken place. Before the fourth event Jizerska 50 takes place on Sunday, the first Challengers event of the winter season starts on Saturday, 13th February at 10:00 CET.

Alutaguse Marathon is one of the biggest cross country skiing events in the Baltics and invites all skiers to the national park of Alutaguse which contains more than 40 lakes in a small area, bogs, and beautiful forests. The race itself is spread to two days – first day is a 22km long night marathon in free technique without timing and second day the main event in classical technique on 44km or 22km course.

Alutaguse Marathon is bringing cross country skiing enthusiasts around the world to North-East of Estonia. The event has a long history of more than 20 years and has already been part of Visma Ski Classics Challengers since last year. However, last season it has been cancelled due to lack of snow. On Saturday, there will be plenty of snow for skiers to enjoy the winter wonderland, but there are of course restrictions due to the Covid-19 situation.

“Only six races are allowed to organize a competition in Estonia. Alutaguse Marathon is one of them. All international participants must be registered to boarder guard. We must send all entry data to them, and if participants are coming from a red country, they might be sent back. Everybody needs to check which rules apply to their home country using the links provided on our website,” says Robert Peets, Event Director.

In order to follow Covid-19 rules, the number of participants has been limited. Maximum 250 skiers will participate at the Night Marathon and 1000 participants at the main race, which is counted as a Visma Ski Classics Challengers. All skiers participating, professional as well as recreational skiers, collect points for their Ski Classics Ranking which can be checked on MyPages.

The start lists before and results after the race can be found at Livecenter.
Live intermediate times can be followed here.
