Andreas Svensson Strengthens Team Eksjöhus
“Andreas has made fantastic results on the long-distance races in Sweden this season. He has shown that he has a high capacity and an even level. It feels enjoyable to have him as part of Team Eksjöhus during Vasaloppet,” says team manager Oskar Svärd.
The 27-year-old Andreas Svensson comes just like Oskar Svärd from the Ulricehamn area in Sweden and has been skiing for Ulricehamns IF throughout his career. After the ski high school in Torsby, he moved to Falun, where he lived and trained for over five years.
The interest in long-distance skiing is new for this season. When Andreas, who previously skied everything from sprint to classic, decided to focus on longer races, all the pieces fell into place. In February, he won the prestigious Engelbrekt race, which underlined the high and even level he maintained during the season.
“During the pandemic, I decided to try something new. I have always had an inclination for longer races and thought now is the time. I have skied the Swedish long-distance race cup and a couple of Visma Ski Classics Challengers races during the winter. I have performed at a high and even level and am more tagged than ever. It feels incredibly honoring to have the opportunity to ski the Vasaloppet for Team Eksjöhus,” says Andreas.
