The Ski Classics Challengers event Taivalkoski – Syöte took place last weekend with a 40km long-distance roller ski race in classic technique in Taivalkoski, Finland.

On Saturday, July 13, after a full day of action, the Ski Classics Challengers event Taivalkoski – Syöte saw Emil Liekari, Vuokatti Ski Team Kainuu, and Katri Lylynperä, Vuokatti Ski Team Kainuu, winning their respective races.

Taivalkoski – Syöte – Men’s Race

In the men’s race, the winner was Emil Liekari, Vuokatti Ski Team Kainuu, completing the race in a time of 1:29:43.6.

Lauri Lepisto, Jämin Jänne, finished in second place, 15.1 seconds back, followed by Veeti Pyykkö, Vuokatti Ski Team Kainuu, completing the podium in the third position and 19.6 seconds behind the winner.

  1. Emil Liekari, Vuokatti Ski Team Kainuu, 1:29:43.6
  2. Lauri Lepistö, Jämin Jänne, +15.1
  3. Veeti Pyykkö, Vuokatti Ski Team Kainuu, +19.6
  4. Lauri Mannila, Taivalkosken Metsä-Veikot 85, +41.9

Taivalkoski – Syöte – Women’s Race

In the women’s competition, the winner was Katru Lylynperä, Vuokatti Ski Team Kainuu, with a total time of 1:48:32.1. 

Anna-Kaisa Saari, Ylivieskan kuula, finished in second place, 11:33.8 back, followed by Anni Huovinen, Team Mäenpää, more than 18:45.7 behind the winner, and completing the podium in the third position.
