Challengers Craft Ski Marathon Next Sunday

by Leandro Lutz • 09.01.2023
For many Swedish long-distance skiers, Craft Ski Marathon is one of winter’s first races. The Ski Classics Challengers event takes place next Sunday, January 15.

The Ski Classics Challengers event in Orsa Grönklitt, Sweden, is a 42km race in classic technique, in two laps of 21km each, and it is one of Sweden’s leading long-distance ski events.

The Craft Ski Marathon course is optimal for all long-distance skiers as there are no really long climbs or challenging downhill sections. The total elevation for the 42km race is 420 meters.

With good snow conditions, the event attracts around 800 skiers each year, with recreational and professional skiers on the starting line.

All skiers can experience the same arena where the Ski Classics Pro Tour will have the Ski Classics Pro Tour Events this Season XIV: Grönklitt Criterium on February 18 and Grönklitt Individual Time Trial on February 19.

This year, Craft Ski Marathon can be followed live on YouTube on January 15. The broadcast starts at 10:30 CET with Studio Grönklitt, and the race begins at 11:00 CET.
