Challengers Sovereign 2 SilverStar Ski Marathon This Weekend In Canada

by Leandro Lutz • 30.03.2023
After a successful first edition, the double Ski Classics Challengers event Sovereign2SilverStar Ski Marathon has grown 70% from last year and is ready for the weekend in Canada.

Sovereign2SilverStar Ski Marathon is a double long-distance event, with a 40km freestyle race on Saturday, April 1, and a 40km classic race on Sunday, April 2.

Sovereign2SilverStart Ski Marathon is a weekend of events celebrating the great late-season snow in Vernon, BC, Canada, where you can enjoy point to the party event, great trails, and snow at Sovereign Lake Nordic Club and SilverStar Mountain Resort, and then stay and play in the valleys of British Columbia, where spring is well underway.

To complement the more challenging 40km events, there is also 21km point to party events each day.

The courses for 2023 will be the same as 2022. They are designed to create a unique experience, with additions that aren’t part of the 100km trail system the locals ski from early November to mid-April.

40km Course Details

The course is 40km with about 800m of total climbing. Trails were chosen to give a gentle first 10km before rolling and twisting through the trees and popping out at the maximum number of viewpoints.

The final 3.5km is a flowy downhill to ensure everyone arrives at the finish with a smile on their face.
