There will be a change in the team leader role in Team Engcon. “It feels like the right time and the right person to hand over to, says Jerry Ahrlin, who steps down from the Pro Team Director role.

Jerry Ahrlin is one of Sweden’s most successful long-distance skiers of all time. He has six wins in Ski Classics, including three victories at Marcialonga. Check Ahrlin’s results HERE.

In recent years, he has been the Pro Team Director for Team Engcon, which includes, among others, Ski Classics star Ida Dahl:

“It feels like both Laila (wife Kveli, also a successful long-distance skier) and I have been rushing around since we had Ebba. And she’s fourteen now, haha. Now I feel that I want to spend more time at home and less time traveling,” says Ahrlin. According to Langd.se, he will still be in supporting roles within Team Engcon but at home. He is a very active part of the team building that is now being prepared for Season XVI.

Jørgen Ulvang will take over the Pro Team Director role:

“It feels perfect for handing over to Jørgen, a young and hungry leader who is really on the game. He will contribute with a number of new ideas. And it’s good for the whole team that something new is happening.”

What are Jørgen’s strengths?

“He has a lot of strengths. He is passionate. He is incredibly good at ski technique. He works as a physio; he can both test and wax skis. I would say that he is really capacious; he knows a lot about just about everything. He is also calm and methodical. Plus, he is a classy workhorse. And that shouldn’t be underestimated in this type of assignment,” says Jerry Ahrlin.
