Johansson Norgren: New Expert In SVT’s Winter Studio
Britta Johansson Norgren’s career as a long-distance skier was impressive: six Ski Classics overall titles and 25 Pro Tour victories, including two at Vasaloppet, and three at Marcialonga, among many other top results.
Having competed in all cross-country skiing disciplines, Britta has been strong in traditional skiing. She competed in the Winter Olympics, World Cup, and World Championships as a member of the Swedish National Team. Moreover, since 2013 she has focused her career on the Ski Classics Pro Tour, where she became the athlete with more victories in the circuit.
In August, Britta Johansson Norgren started a new challenge, being a coach:
“It’s about long-term plans. I want to work with people, preferably for one or more years. To achieve results, these are processes that must last for several years. It’s about starting with a meeting where we discuss the current situation and where you want to be, and then there will be continuous meetings and conversations. In parallel with my elite sports career, I have read about sports science, nutrition, and training, and all combined with the experience and knowledge I have had throughout my career, I will use now,” said Britta in an interview with Langd.se.
In the upcoming winter season, Johansson Norgren will be an expert commentator at SVT’s Winter Studio, which premieres this Saturday:
“It will be great fun and inspiring to work as an expert at SVT sport. I hope to contribute by bringing experiences about what it’s like to ski in the races and the tactical game out in the tracks,” and continues:
“The season feels exciting with several big Swedish teams, and after a content-rich silly season, it feels more open than ever. Of course, extra interesting to see what Petter Northug can do after his comeback. Most of all, I’m still looking forward to Vasaloppet and seeing if we can get a long-awaited Swedish men’s winner again,” says Britta Johansson Norgren to SVT Sport.
