Kolbeinsdóttir and Einarsson Winners of Fossavatnsgangan

The Visma Ski Classics Challengers event Fossavatnsgangan took place today with a 50km race in classic technique in Isafjordur, Iceland.

The Visma Ski Classics Challengers event saw Andrea Kolbeinsdóttir and Snorri Eythór Einarsson win the race with superior performances.

In the women’s race, Andrea Kolbeinsdóttir, with a time of 3:07:50.0, won ahead of Gígja Björnsdóttir, in second place and 1 minute and 22 seconds behind. Mari Jarsk finished in third place, more than seven minutes back.

In the men’s competition, the winner was Snorri Eythór Einarsson, with a time of 2:29:08.0. Dagur Benediktsson, finished in second place, 2 minutes and 41 seconds behind. Jan Svoboda completed the podium in the third position.

As Fossavatnsgangan is a Visma Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective gender.
