Lager 157 Ski Team Presents Youth Team
Last season, Lager 157 Ski Team started investing in a youth team:
“The background to this was that we did not get enough young people together for our “main” team. And it is clear that it is not just possible to jump over to Ski Classics and believe that you can perform immediately. We want to take a bigger grip and guide people into Ski Classics, and then we think this is a good way. The youth team becomes more of a supported way in combination with what they do in their clubs. It turned out very well last year, and we hope to continue in the same way now,” says Anton Järnberg, Pro Team Director at Lager 157 Ski Team.
A sign that the first year was successful is that Linnea Johansson took a step from last year’s youth team to the winter’s main team.
The youth team is open to skiers born from 1999 to 2003:
“We have seen above all, on the women’s side, that quite a few girls aged 20-23 were interested, but then it started to thin out. If we could introduce this earlier, we believe we can get more people to invest longer,” says Järnberg.
Lager 157 Ski Team’s youth team:
- Elin Törnqvist
- Adrian Lundberg
- Anja Stolpe
- Maja Eriksson
- Bruno Dettmann
- Ossian Rosenberg
“The first camp is at the end of July, then we will have a total of four camps and these we run together with the “main team.” As for the competitions, they will start for us in the six competitions in the Long-Distance Cup in Sweden,” concludes Anton Järnberg.
