Ski Classics announces the appointment of Olympic and World Championships medalist Lukáš Bauer as the new Ski Classics Race Director.

This move marks a significant step forward in the company’s continued dedication to excellence in sports business. Lukáš Bauer brings winter sports experiences second to none, as he is well known in the World of traditional cross-country skiing as a skier and coach and long-distance skiing as a Pro Team athlete and Pro Team Director.

“I’m really happy and motivated to work in this position. I’ve spent six years in Ski Classics as Pro Team Director and two years earlier as an athlete, and I like this World. I’m pleased with what David and the team have built in the last 15-16 years. This is the position from the other side that I was before, but I’m really looking forward to it,” says Lukáš Bauer, newly appointed Ski Classics Race Director, and adds:

“I hope I can bring a point of view from many different angles, like athletes, Pro Team Directors, coaches, so I can gain from these positions and bring to Ski Classics. I’m looking forward to the start of the season, and I hope to have a great season with tons of snow and very interesting competitions.”

Bauer’s impressive track record includes Olympic and World Championships medals, coaching the Polish men’s national team, as well as a solid career at Ski Classics both as a skier and Pro Team Director for the eD system Bauer Team, being awarded Pro Team Director of the Season in 2019.

Also in the Ski Classics Team are Roxane Lacroix, in a new position as Pro Tour Manager, and Øyvind Watterdal, Event Supervisor, both with solid experience on the Ski Classics circuit. Lovisa Blidberg, Media Manager, Karel Jonak, Media Production Director; Theresa Fugger is the Event Director for the Pro Tour and Challengers; Katerina Paul and Leandro Lutz, the Ski Classics Challengers Managers.

David Nilsson, Director of Ski Classics, expressed his enthusiasm for the appointments, stating:

“In order to continue the development of Ski Classics, having a crew with experience from various fields and countries within our sport is of the utmost importance. I am very happy to have Lukáš and the other crew aboard; now we are ready for the upcoming Season XVI to begin!”
