Team Aker Dæhlie strengthens its Pro Team squad for Ski Classics Season XVI. The Norwegian athlete Magnus Vesterheim is switching teams from Team Kaffebryggeriet.

Team Aker Dæhlie is preparing for the Ski Classics Season XVI (2024/2025) and has started to present its squad. This weekend, a popular name already known to fans and followers of Ski Classics was presented: Magnus Versterheim, who is joining the ranks of the Norwegian Pro Team.

Vesterheim was a member of Team Kaffebryggeriet for the past three years and is now heading to Team Aker Dæhlie. His most significant achievement so far is the 4th place at Birkebeinerrennet in 2023. Still, he has shown over the seasons that he has the potential for podium places.

“We had some contact last winter, but it was towards the end of the season this year that we arrived at what has now become an agreement,” says Magnus Vesterheim to Langrenn.com and added about the change:

“It is certainly quite possible to get on the podium with the system I have had, but I feel that it is the right time to try something new.”

During Ski Classics Season XV, Magnus Versterheim started in 8 individual Pro Tour events and 2 Ski Classics Challengers. His best results were 6th place at both the Drei Zinnen Ski Marathon and Summit 2 Senja and 3rd at the Challengers Marcialonga Arctic Ski Race, finishing the season in 20th place at the Champion competition with 782 points.

Background

Magnus Vesterheim has not followed a traditional skier path. The now Team Aker Dæhlie Pro Team athlete talked earlier to ProXCskiing.com about how he became a cross-country skier and what the long-distance skiing community means to him.
