Last season, Team Eksjöhus won the Ski Classics Pro Team competition by a significant margin. Now, Frode Pedersen has become the new waxing manager for the Swedish Pro Team.

Team Eksjöhus was founded for the 2021/2022 season but has quickly risen to the position of Ski Classics’ most successful team – at least in terms of the Pro Team Competition during last season, where the Pro Team was superior.

At the end of April, Luca Angelini, the outstanding wax tech of Ski Classics stars like Magni Smedås, Kati Roivas, and Eirik Sverdrup Augdal, among others, quit his position as wax tech for Team Eksjöhus after three years with the Pro Team.

“It feels excellent. I’m joining a well-functioning team with good people,” says Frode Pedersen in a press release.

Frode Pedersen was part of the Norwegian cross-country team for nine years and thus has several Olympic golds, World Championships golds, and World Cup victories under his belt.

“I am thrilled to have one of the world’s best wax techs joining the team. We have been working on this for several years, so it is extra nice that it has become a reality now. We feel incredibly confident with his grinding and waxing ability and will clearly get a higher level now,” says Pro Team Director Espen Träldal.

“There are very good conditions already. We will work on the skis to get an even better control. That way, there will be fewer errors, and if there are errors, you will know why. Then, it’s a lot about being innovative, being at the forefront, and having a good bond between skiers and wax techs. We all always want to improve and it’s about finding the solutions that work best for us,” says Frode Pedersen, who has already had time to familiarize with his new colleagues:

“I have a very good feeling already. There is a good harmony and atmosphere around the team. There is good communication and cooperation, and everyone wants to go in the same direction.”
