The Ski Classics Challengers event Taivalkoski – Syöte, former ‘We are the Ski Family Syöte’ starts in one month. The 40km classic roller ski race will take place on June 8, 2024, in Taivalkoski, Finland.

Taivalkoski – Syöte, former ‘We are the Ski Family Syöte,’ roller skiing event is part of the Ski Classics Challengers circuit with a 40-kilometer classic roller skiing race in Taivalkoski, Finland.

Taivalkoski – Syöte is a long-distance roller skiing event, taking place for the second time in Taivalkoski, Finland, for the upcoming edition on June 8, 2024.

The Local Organizing Committee is pleased to have the primary race as a Ski Classics Challengers event again:

“The start of the race is located in Taivalkoski city center, and the finish is on top of the hill Iso-Syöte, with a race distance of 40 kilometers.”

In connection with the main long-distance event, there will be a shorter event for young athletes (12-18 years old) with a 3km uphill roller ski race to the top of Iso-Syöte.

The event continues with a training camp, where skiers from 12 to 18 years old are welcome. Metsä-Veikot skiers Lauri Mannila and Heikki Korpela, as well as Harri Uutinen and Juha Korpela, are responsible for coaching and sharing the knowledge at the camp.

As Taivalkoski – Syöte is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders. 

A list of Ski Classics Challengers events with confirmed dates for season 2024/2025 can be found at Ski Classics. The list is updated continuously with new events.

Everyone participating in Ski Classics, Pro Tour, or Challengers events, professional and recreational skiers, can connect their profile to the results database of Ski Classics, called MyPages.

MyPages can be connected when subscribing to Ski Classics online community ProXCskiing.com. In the profile, you can view your Ski Classics event results, collect pins, print diplomas, and analyze your results with friends in the SC ranking system. In your profile, you collect points according to your performance and are rewarded with pins and diplomas.

One of the central features of MyPages is that you get your global SC ranking. The SC Ranking is a live updated international ranking, unique in combining women and men, professional and recreational skiers in one single list.
