Øyre Slind and Riege winners on the first day of Toppidrettsveka 2023

Toppidrettsveka 2023 had its first day this Wednesday with a 54km mass start classic race in Hitra, Norway. Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, and Amund Riege, Team Ramudden, won their respective races.

Toppidrettsveka 54km – Women’s Race

After another impressive performance, Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, took first place today at the 54km classic race. Tiril Udnes Weng, Nes Ski, snagged second place, and Rosie Brennan, Team Robinson Trentino, completed the podium in third place.

In the men’s race, we saw Amund Riege, Team Ramudden, taking home first place in a tight sprint finish. Thomas Joly, Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso, snagged second place, and Even Northug, Team Janteloppet, completed the podium in third place.

Tomorrow, Thursday, August 17, it’s time for the 1.4km sprint in classic technique. On Friday, a 15/20 kilometers skiathlon race awaits the skiers, and on Saturday, a 12-km pursuit race in freestyle technique.
