Øyre Slind outside the Norwegian national team activities

Astrid Øyre Slind has chosen to stand outside the Norwegian national team activities next season as well. The highlight of season 2024/2025 will be the Trondheim World Championships at home ground.

Astrid Øyre Slind declines a place in the Norwegian national team for the coming season. The information was confirmed by both Astrid Øyre Slind and Team Aker Dæhlie on Tuesday morning.

This year, Øyre Slind has focused almost exclusively on traditional cross-country skiing and the World Cup. She had nine top-10 positions in the World Cup and a bronze from the 50km in the National Championships.

According to Langrenn.com, the cross-country skiing star received a new offer to join the Norwegian elite national team but turned it down in favor of further investment with Team Aker Dæhlie.

“I’m very happy to have made my decision. It’s been a challenging choice, but now I can’t wait to start training,” says Øyre Slind to Langrenn.com.

She will now discuss the details of a representation agreement with the Norwegian Ski Association.

“I hope to get an agreement like the one I had last winter, where I represent the national team when I’m out doing World Cup races with them. I do that with joy and pride, giving them all the marketing I can when I’m out at the World Cup,” says Øyre Slind.
