Petter Northug Was Disqualified At Jizerská50

by PROXCSKIING • 13.02.2023
Petter Northug, Team Northug Crucible, received another yellow card, now in the Czech Pro Tour race.

Pro Tour athlete and TV commentator, Petter Northug, traveled from the Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof, Germany, to the Czech Republic this weekend, announcing his start at another Ski Classics Pro Tour event this season.

It was a difficult day for Northug at Jizerská50. The cross-country skiing star already had one yellow card for using skating in a previous Pro Tour race this season. Yesterday, he received his second yellow card due to using the skating technique in the Czech forests. This meant that Northug was disqualified from the long-distance race.

After completing six races in Ski Classics Season XIV, Petter Northug is in 42nd place in the Champion competition with 260 points. Northug was 26th at Bad Gastein Criterium, 37th at La Venosta Criterium, 28th at Pustertaler Ski Marathon, 69th at Prato Piazza Mountain Challenge, 25th at Engadin La Diagonela, and 36th at Marcialonga. On March 5, he will start on his big goal for the season, Vasaloppet.

Northug, on the other hand, showed good form last weekend when he won the skating race Toblach-Cortina in Italy.
