Ski Classics starts once again in Austria, more precisely in Bad Gastein, on December 9 and 10, 2023. The Season XV premiere features a weekend of two Pro Tour events, Bad Gastein PTT and Criterium, and the Ski-Willy Marathon Team Austria is already looking forward to the events.

The Ski-Willy Marathon Team Austria wrapped up an eventful Ski Classics Season XIV, securing 32nd place in the competitive Pro Team ranking with 192 points. With just under two months to the beginning of Season XV, the Austrian Pro Team sets its sights on one of their main goals for the upcoming winter season.

After a visit to the Organizing Committee in Bad Gastein, the Pro Team Director Peter Kiene reveals: “For the Ski-Willy Marathon team, the opening weekend in Sportgastein is one of the most important races of the year. The national and international media presence enables the local heroes from Austria to have great visibility and media presence.”

Peter Kiene also explains the following preparation steps for the Pro Team: “The Austrian Pro Team will hold a training camp in Sportgastein in mid-November. According to the long-term weather forecast, there should already be snow in the high valleys of the Central Alps. The aim is to analyze the racecourse and the conditions in detail so that the athletes and service team can fully use the home advantage at the start of the season,” says the Pro Team Director and adds:

“Together with the only Pro Tour event organizer in Austria, Ski-Willy Marathon Team Austria will raise the visibility of long-distance skiing in the Alpine region to a new level.”
