Sulkakoski joins Team Mäenpää

Team Mäenpää announced that David Sulkakoski is joining the Finnish Pro Team. Find out about the Pro Team athlete.

In a press release on social media, Team Mäenpää announced that the 28-year-old Finnish David Sulkakoski is joining their ranks. The Pro Team athlete is moving from Team Edux and joining the Finnish Pro Team for about five events in the upcoming Ski Classics Season XV. 

David Sulkakoski ended Ski Classics Season XIV in the 128th position, with 42 points in the Yellow Champion bib competition overall. 

Pro Team Director Kim Mäenpää is looking forward to the cooperation:

“David is a talented skier, especially on roller skis. David’s talent also shows up in an official half marathon world record on the Skierg Concept2 double poling machine. It feels good to have David on the Team. Our goal is to be able to develop him even more as a long-distance skier with the knowledge and training opportunities that exist within the Team,” says Mäenpää in the press release.

 David Sulkakoski is also showing his enthusiasm for joining the Finnish Pro Team:

“I am excited and eager to compete for Team Mäenpää in Ski Classics. I know my new teammates from the past and promise to help the Team in the best possible way. I’m really looking forward to joining Team Mäenpää,” says Sulkakoski.

According to Team Mäenpää’s Pro Team Director, David is joining teammates Viktor, Hannes and Robin Mäenpää, and Amanda Nyfors for the upcoming season.

Sulkakoski has three Ski Classics Pro Tour and two Ski Classics Challengers starts under his belt. His best Pro Tour result was at Tartu Maraton in 2022, a 59th place.

This week, Team Mäenpää is heading to Livigno (ITA) for a 2-week high-altitude training camp.
