Summit 2 Senja – Event Of The Season

by Leandro Lutz • 13.04.2023
Season Summit
Ski Classics Season XIV consisted of 14 Pro Tour events, and now the poll has been conducted on which race was most popular. The award is decided after a vote by Pro Team Athletes, staff, and Ski Classics officials. The title Event of the Season goes to the Summit 2 Senja, which received 36% of the votes.

Each Pro Tour event has its specialties and characteristics. New and challenging races are appreciated by the athletes in the Pro Teams, which was reflected in the poll even after Season XIV.

Summit 2 Senja, this new addition to the Pro Tour, is a 68km mass start race starting in Bardufoss and ending in Finnsnes at the bay, passing through fantastic landscapes, from the mountains to the fjords.

The race was exciting in both the women’s and men’s classes, where Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, and Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget, Team Eksjöhus, showed enormous strength at the challenging course and final Climb of the season down to the finish line at the bay in Finnsnes.

Second in the poll was, just like last year, Marcialonga. The Italian race has been voted number one after Seasons VIII and IX.
