Team Engcon Will Start At The Ski Classics Pre-Season Race: “Good Opportunity”
December 10 is the time for the Ski Classics premiere in an intense weekend in Bad Gastein, Austria.
The Pro Teams are fully prepared for the season ahead. Last Friday, Ski Classics presented a new pre-season race concept taking place in Sjusjøen, Norway, on November 12.
One of the Pro Teams that will be presented is Team Engcon, where, among others, last season’s overall runner-up Ida Dahl will start:
“We are many new in the team regarding skiers and the staff around them. In addition, several have changed ski brands for the coming season. That’s why it feels good to be able to test the organization in a race before Ski Classics points are awarded,” says Team Engcon Pro Team Director Jerry Ahrlin.
How important is the competition?
“It is clear that we always want to perform when the bib is on. But I would say that in this case, it is more important that we can test and set the organization and the roles. Then there are also tactical details that we can work on in a race like this,” says Ahrlin.
For the skiers, the competition setup after the pre-season race in Sjusjøen will be a trip to the traditional start of the season in Bruksvallarna, which will be held the weekend after the competitions in Norway.
November 18 is a sprint in classic style; on Saturday and Sunday, there will be races with individual starts in classic and freestyle techniques.
