Team Kaffebryggeriet – Pro Team Presentation Season XIV
The team has four men and three women ready to fight for points this winter. Vetle has a long history behind him, but the podium place still seems to elude him (his all-time best result is fourth). Last winter, he did not have the best season and could not get into the top 10. He was in the top 16 five times, and the Individual Prologue turned out to be his best race result-wise as he finished 11th.
If Vetle has been around for many years, so has Magnus Vesterheim. Much like his teammate, he is capable of outstanding achievements on the ski tracks, but those moments only come sometimes. He was 6th at Vasaloppet in 2018, 6th at Birkebeinerrennet, and 5th at La Venosta Time Trial last winter. The past season was certainly his greatest so far as he managed to be in the top 10 four times, but he also had bad days, for example, at Ylläs-Levi, when he was quite far behind the coveted podium places.
Stian Berg continued his winning streak and took home the victory trophy in the Sprint competition. He has said that his future goal is to fight for the Yellow Bib, which leaves the sprint field quite open. Stian showed that he has the capacity to reach the top as he was able to be in the top 20 in four races last season: 17th at Jizerská50, 19th at Tartu Maraton, 14th at Årefjällsloppet and 14th at Ylläs-Levi.
Fredrik Helgestad came from traditional cross-country skiing and decided to switch to long-distance skiing this year. Even with not much experience in long-distance skiing has been given an important role in Team Kaffebryggeriet, keeping the Green Sprint bib in the team.
From the three ladies on the team, Oda Nerdrum and Anna Jönsson Haag, assist their team in getting valuable points. Oda races sporadically in Ski Classics and finished two Pro Tour stages with her 20th and 22nd places, while Anna was more active with her nine stages by finishing in the top 21 in all of them. Marcialonga’s 10th place was her season-best result. Anna is a former Swedish National Team member with the relay gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics and three Olympic silver medals in total.
On the other hand, Dorthe Seierstad is a young traditional cross-country skier and a newcomer to the Pro Tour races this season. Dorthe is frequent in cross-country skiing competitions in Norway and Sweden, as well as in the Scandinavian Cup events. This summer, she started at Totenrullen, a Ski Classics Challengers event, and got 6th place.
This team has always had a lot of potential, but it seems that they can’t quite reach the hefty goals they have before each season. However, they can become movers and shakers in the world of long-distance skiing, but they need to have more good days and even greater results in the future.
