Team Robinson Trentino is getting ready for Visma Ski Classics Season XII. The first training camp organized by the team is in Trentino, the renowned Italian region for cross country ski lovers and the main goal of this first gathering is doing volume training.

“We are doing long but diversified workouts. We are roller-skiing (both classic and skating technique), cycling, running and hiking, too” says the Team’s Director Bruno Debertolis. “The main goal of this first training camp is to increase the volume in order to get ready for the next Visma Ski Classics season.”

“On Saturday, we had a really tough session. It lasted more than 7 hours and it consisted of 63 km of cycling with 1200 meters of vertical ascent, 20 km skating on a flat surface, 20 kilometers doing classic roller-ski training with more than 1000 meters of ascent and then running on the mountains. Really intense but important for training fatigue resistance” says Bruno while also saying that it is a privilege to train so many hours with the Dolomites landscape behind them.

For the next Visma Ski Classics Season, Bruno tells the team is developing what he calls the “talent team”. Some very promising young athletes, born between 1998 and 1999, will start racing with the Pro Team. Bruno is also making contacts and hopes to have new entries in his team ready to race in the Pro Team Tour.

“There are many strong athletes following their dreams. Many young athletes are coming from different regions of Italy, something that opens opportunities for new sponsors. The interest in Visma Ski Classics is increasing, especially because there are many events in Italy. Unfortunately, there are no Italian athletes fighting for the top positions. That would help us to develop the sport. Maybe things will change in the future.”

Team Robinson Trentino is looking forward to the next Visma Ski Classics Season, but Bruno admits it will be challenging. “There will be many long and tough events next season. It will be a challenge for the smaller teams, but on the other hand, the insertion of new locations can open up new opportunities, and it may be motivating to race on new and different courses”.
