The Marathon International de Bessans becomes part of the Ski Classics Challengers circuit with a 30 kilometers long classic race in Bessans, France.

Marathon International de Bessans is a long-distance skiing event, which has occurred every year since 1980 in Bessans, France, and now joins the Ski Classics Challengers circuit for the upcoming edition on January 7th, 2023.

The event takes place in the beautiful Haute Maurienne Vanoise valley. The tracks are mostly flat in the stunning and large valley, with short but steep climbs. At an altitude of 1750 meters above sea level, Bessans offers a lovely season-opening, both for classic and skating, as well as for professional and recreational skiers.

The Local Organizing Committee is pleased to be joining the Ski Classics Challengers circuit:

“We are delighted to join the Ski Classics Challengers alongside all the beautiful races that form the circuit. A wonderful Nordic skiing moment on perfect slopes, enjoying magnificent landscapes. Come here to enjoy the snow and slopes of the French Alps and start your Nordic ski season in Bessans on January 7th & 8th, 2023!”

The Marathon International de Bessans will take place on January 7th and 8th, 2023. On Saturday, it’s time for the Ski Classics Challengers event, the 30 kilometers long classic mass start race. On the same day, a shorter 15 kilometers classic race is also on the program.

On Sunday, 23km and 42km races in freestyle technique are on the menu. The organizing committee warmly welcomes all participants.
