Thomas Joly winner of Challengers Alliansloppet 2023

The Ski Classics Challengers event Alliansloppet, a 48km long-distance rollers ki race in classic technique, took place today in Trollhättan, Sweden. Thomas Joly, Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso, showed his form and won the men’s race. 

Many Ski Classics Pro Team athletes and World Cup skiers matched their skills in a 48km long-distance race today in Trollhättan, Sweden. After a rainy day, the Ski Classics Challengers Alliansloppet event saw Thomas Joly, Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso, winning the race with a late surge before the finish line.

Alliansloppet – Men’s Race

In the men’s competition, the winner was Thomas Joly, Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso. A big group of favorites was formed at the beginning of the last lap, and it seemed all was set to be a sprint finish. Joly, in a late surge inside the final kilometer, surprised the opponents and won the race a few seconds ahead of the main group with a total time of 1:53:14.6 

Peter Stakston, Team Aker Dæhlie, finished in second place, 2.7 seconds behind, followed by Mathias Aas Rolid, Team Janteloppet, 3.0 seconds back, and completing the podium in the third position.

As Alliansloppet is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
