The Norwegian roller ski event Totenrullen is entering Visma Ski Classics Challengers. The 50 km classic roller ski race will take place on 19th June in Raufoss, Norway.

Recently it was announced that Båstad-Mölle joins the Visma Ski Classics family as a new Swedish Challengers event taking place at the beginning of June. Now Totenrullen in Norway gives Pro Team athletes another possibility to collect points early in the season.

Although a fairly new competition, Totenrullen is regarded as one of the most beautiful roller ski races around and is highly sought after by Ski Classics and World Cup athletes. This is also because among the organizers of Totenrullen is famous roller ski manufacturer IDT, who develops roller skis in collaboration with athletes like Johannes Høsflot Klæbo and Frida Karlsson, and the well-known Ski Classics Pro Team, Team Kaffebryggeriet.

The 50 km Totenrullen competition, counting as a Challengers event, is usually part of a three-day roller ski event called Toten Skifestival. This year, due to Covid-19 restrictions, the focus is on the 50K main event.
”We are sincerely looking forward to being a part of the Visma Ski Classics family. For a relatively new roller ski venue like Toten Skifestival, it’s a great privilege to host such an event. We hope that the Ski Classics Challengers status will make the competition even more popular among the elite skiers. Norway and the beautiful countryside of Toten will provide a perfect backdrop for an exciting race,” says Vetle Thyli, co-founder of Toten Skifestival and Pro Team Manager, Team Kaffebryggeriet.

The start and finish of the 50 km Challengers event are in Raufoss. Registrations are open and accessible via this link. As with many other events during the difficult ongoing situation, only athletes with an active FIS code can register.

All participants will be able to collect points for the SC ranking, which they can check by signing up for free to MyPages. MyPages provides one common ranking for women and men, professional and recreational skiers alike.

Pro Team registered athletes can collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in respective gender.

A list of Challengers events with confirmed dates for season 2021/22 can be found at vismaskiclassics.com. The list will be updated continuously with new events.

Totenrullen attracts the elite skiers. Here we see the world champion Hans Christer Holund in front.
