Fossavatnsgangan, a Ski Classics Challengers event, took place last Saturday, with a 50km race in classic technique in Ísafjörður, Iceland. Enjoy the best moments of the event. 

After a full day of action, the Ski Classics Challengers event Fossavatnsgangan saw Mathias Aas Rolid, Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso, and Nadja Kälin, SC Alpina St. Moritz, winning their respective races.

Fossavatnsgangan – Men’s Race

In the men’s race, the winner of Fossavatnsgangan was Mathias Aas Rolid, Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso, completing the race in a time of 2:04:01.0.

Petter Soleng Skinstad, Team Coop, finished in second place, with a total time of 2:06:41.0, followed by the Swiss Ilya Chernousov, LSV/Bual Lantsch, completing the podium in the third position and a total time of 2:07:47.0.

  2. Petter Soleng Skinstad, Team Coop, +2:40.0

Fossavatnsgangan – Women’s Race

In the women’s competition, the winner was Nadja Kälin, SC Alpina St. Moritz, with a total time of 2:26:15.0. 

Elisabeth Schicho, Kjelsaas, finished in second place, with a time of 2:34:29.0, followed by Andrea Kolbeinsdóttir, Meistaraæfingar Einars Óla, with a total time of 2:42:12.0, and completing the podium in the third position.

  1. Nadja Kälin, SC Alpina St. Moritz, 2:26:15.0
  2. Elisabeth Schicho, Kjelsaas, +8:14.0
  3. Andrea Kolbeinsdóttir, Meistaraæfingar Einars Óla, +15:57.0

As Fossavatnsgangan is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective gender.
