WILL TEAM RAMUDDEN ALSO DOMINATE TJEJVASAN?
Several Pro Team Athletes attend, as usual, the 30 km race Tjejvasan a week before the Vasaloppet.
Will Team Ramudden’s Lina Korsgren, Ida Dahl, and Jenny Larsson dominate the race, just like in the Pro tour so far during Season XI? Is last year’s winner Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team, back in top shape?
Tomorrow we will see. The race starts at 09:00 CET.
Last year, Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team, took a solo-win in Tjejvasan. She crossed the finish line more than half a minute ahead of Lina Korsgren, Team Ramudden. The fact is that it’s unusual with a solo victory in the race. 13 of the last 16 races have been decided in a sprint finish between several skiers.
Britta Johansson Norgren has won Tjejvasan four times in the last five years. When she was second in 2018, Katerina Smutna, eD System Bauer Team, took the victory. Last year, Smutna was fourth, and she is on the starting line this year again and showed rising form with her third place at Jizerska.
Lina Korsgren has never won Tjejvasan but has been second behind Britta the last two years. This winter, she has dominated the Pro Tour with the placements 2 – 1 – 1 – 1.
The 2021 edition of Tjejvasan is limited to 100 elite athletes due to the pandemic situation.
In addition to the above-mentioned Pro Team Athletes, the following are also attending the race: Laila Kveli, Team Engcon, Hedda Bångman, Team Nordic Athlete, Elin Mohlin, Lager 157 Ski Team, Maria Gräfnings, Vltava Fund Ski Team, Sofie Elebro, Team Parkettpartner Sjusjøen and Linn Sömskar, Team Nordic Athlete.
