Finnish B, U-23, and youth national teams for the 2023/2024 season

The Finnish Ski Association has named the B, U-23, and youth national teams for the 2023/2024 season.

According to a press release, 11 cross-country skiers selected will be part of the Finnish B national team, 8 for the U-23 national team, and 43 skiers for the youth national team (12 for the U-20 team and 31 for the U-18 group) for the upcoming season. 

“The coaching groups of the national cross-country skiing teams for the season 2023-2024 have been supplemented. In addition to the previously published A national team, the B national team, the U-23 national team, the St1 group (the U-20 national team), and the U-18 group have now been named. Eleven athletes have been selected for the B national team and eight for the under-23 national team. The groups mainly train together, and the camps are focused in Vuokatti. The responsible coach of the teams is Jussi Piirainen.”

“12 athletes have been named to the under-20 youth national team – St1 group and 31 athletes have been named to the under-18 group. Jaakko Halonen is the responsible coach of the under-20s, and Roope Haapakangas is the coach of the under-18s.”
