French Cross-Country Skiing Championships – Day Two

by Claire Moyse • 02.04.2022
Today was the second day of the French Cross-Country Skiing Championships in Les Tuffes, station des Rousses. Mass start in classic technique at the program, once again under snowfall.

The women were the first to take the start, and without Delphine Claudel, the French team leader, we didn’t know who would get the shot. They were only two before the last sprint, fighting for the title. But Melissa Gal, yesterday’s winner, took the wrong way and finally Coralie Bentz is the new French champion.

  1. Coralie Bentz
  2. Melissa Gal, +12.7
  3. Juliette Ducordeau, +20.1
  4. Alexiane Gauthier, +32.2
  5. Lena Quintin, +39.1

On the men’s side, Clement Parisse raced alone in the lead, breaking away at mid-race and winning the title on this own. The race was to the two remaining places on the podium, and after a sprint finish, it was finally Tom Mancini and Théo Schely who took the 2nd and 3rd places.

  1. Clement Parisse
  2. Tom Mancini, +40.5
  3. Théo Schely, +40.9
  4. Remi Bourdin, +41.5
  5. Jean-Marc Gaillard, +44.9
