Germany Surprises And Wins Women’s Team Sprint At The Beijing Olympics

Katharina Hennig and Victoria Carl secure the gold medal in the team sprint for Germany in a superb finish at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. Results from the women’s team sprint classic.

Germany, who were merely outsiders to the medals coming into the women’s team sprint, took home the gold medal. With Maja Dahlqvist and Jonna Sundling, top favorites for the event, Sweden snagged the silver medal in front of the Russian Olympic Committee with Yulia Stupak and Natalia Nepryaeva in a fierce battle for the last medal.

The men’s 50km mass start freestyle on Saturday, February 19, and the women’s 30km mass start freestyle on Sunday, February 20, are the next and last events for the cross-country skiers at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing.
