Jessie Diggins dominates U.S. Ski & Snowboard annual awards

Jessie Diggins, the celebrated North American cross-country skier and three-time Olympic medalist, has had a standout season. For the 2023/2024 season, she swept multiple awards at the U.S. Ski & Snowboard annual awards. This recognition cements her status as one of the most exceptional athletes in the sport’s history.

Diggins received the prestigious Beck International Award, the highest athletic honor awarded by U.S. Ski & Snowboard, marking her fourth win of this accolade (previously in 2018, 2021, and 2026). The award is presented to a competitor with outstanding international performances, and Diggins’ achievements this season were nothing short of extraordinary. She captured both the overall and distance Crystal Globe titles in the FIS Cross-Country World Cup, showcasing her dominance with six World Cup victories and 12 podium finishes. Highlighting her season was her triumph in the Tour de Ski, further solidifying her legacy.

In addition to the Beck International Award, Diggins was honored with the Stifel Cross Country Athlete of the Year award. She shared this accolade with Gus Schumacher, who also had a remarkable season, including a historic victory at the Stifel Loppet Cup in Minneapolis, the first U.S. men’s cross-country World Cup win since 1982.

Diggins’ influence extends beyond the racecourse. She was awarded the Team Athletes Giving Back Award for her significant contributions to the Share Winter Foundation, an organization dedicated to introducing children to snow sports. This award includes a $5,000 grant to support the foundation’s mission, highlighting Diggins’ commitment to giving back to the community and fostering the next generation of skiers.

Diggins’ exceptional achievements and her contributions to the sport and community were celebrated during the awards ceremony held in Park City, Utah. Her recognition reflects not only her superior athletic prowess but also her dedication to promoting skiing and supporting charitable causes.

As the 2023/2024 season concludes, Jessie Diggins’ collection of accolades underscores a career marked by relentless excellence and profound impact, inspiring both her teammates and aspiring athletes worldwide.
