Johaug became a mother
Yesterday, Norway’s National Day, Therese Johaug became a mother for the first time. The news was released on her social media by partner Nils Jakob Hoff.
“Thank you to everyone who ‘cheered’ a little extra for us today. Everything is going well with everyone involved!”
Earlier, when Johaug announced her pregnancy, she expressed her feelings about expecting a baby:
“That is the greatest thing you can achieve. It surpasses all the golds I have won,” Therese said last January to NRK.

At the beginning of March 2022, Therese announced that she would end her career as a top-class traditional cross-country skier after the season.

Before last season, Therese stepped in as an expert commentator in cross-country skiing for NRK and planned to attend the Norwegian National Championships and the World Championships in Planica at the end of February, beginning of March 2023.

The queen of traditional cross-country skiing has won 14 World Championships gold medals in her career. At the Beijing Olympics, she won the first individual Olympic gold of her career, in a total of three at the end of the Olympic Games.
