Evelina Crüsell had a huge breakthrough last winter with two gold medals at the Junior World Championships in Planica, Slovenia. She has also made her World Cup debut and is considered one of the biggest talents in Sweden, right after our world-class athletes in the senior national team.

The Swedish cross-country skier will now train together with Dala Sports Academy, a place where she is in good company with several other top athletes.

However, there will be no club switch, even though she is now in the heart of her home terrain, close to the big club Falun-Borlänge SK. Evelina Crüsell will remain with Skellefteå SK.

“I finished at the ski high school and felt it was the right time for me to move, to train with a new group like DSA, Dala Sports Academy,” she says to SVT.

A change of environment often gives a boost, and Evelina now also has a new coach in Johan Granath, who has worked with several national team athletes in the past. He also finds it exciting to have the promising Skellefteå skier among his students.

“It’s exciting, we have many talented athletes in the Falun/Borlänge area, and it inspires each other to develop, something we’ve seen for many years,” says Granath to SVT.
