Klæbo travels home from the national team training camp

Klæbo
Injury-plagued Johannes Høsflot Klæbo has been forced to leave the Norwegian national team training camp after just two days.

On Monday, the Norwegian national team started their training camp in Fredrikstad. The very next day, Johannes Høsflot Klæbo traveled home.

“I’ve suffered a slight strain in my elbow, which meant I had travel home from the national team’s training camp. I’m on the road to recovery, and I’ll soon be ready to return to normal training,” says the 27-year-old in a press release.

Team doctor Ove Feragen confirms that Klæbo had to cancel the training camp and is being followed up:

“Johannes is being followed up by the medical support team, and we expect to get this under control fairly quickly,” says team doctor Ove Feragen.

Although Klæbo will not participate in any further training with the team during the gathering, he will return to Fredrikstad to join in the IDYLL X Craft Run during the Idyll Festival.

“I’m traveling back to Fredrikstad to take part in the IDYLL X Craft Run, which is being held on Saturday. Lots of children and lots of sporting fun. I’m looking forward to it. It will be great,” says Klæbo.

The gathering in Fredrikstad this week is the Norwegian national team’s second this season, with the World Championships on home soil in Trondheim being the clear highlight. For many skiers, the gathering started before the weekend, with extensive physical tests at Olympiatoppen in Oslo.

Back on the national team

Klæbo is again part of the Norwegian national team squad this year, after a season spent outside the national team.
