More doubts for the Norwegian season premiere
It is not only Johannes Høsflot Klæbo who is in danger of missing the season premiere in cross-country skiing at Beitostølen, Norway, in a week and a half. Several others have tested positive for Covid and risk being a ‘DNS’ – Did Not Start skier.
Now it turns out the women’s World Cup winner may also be forced to miss the Norwegian season premiere in cross-country skiing at Beitostølen. Tiril Udnes Weng has also tested positive for Covid.
With less than a week and a half left until the season opener, it is now uncertain whether she can make the season opener at Beitostølen, which will be held from November 17 to 19.
Earlier today, it became clear that Johannes Høsflot Klæbo has tested positive for Covid. He also contracted the infection while he was at the altitude training camp in Livigno, Italy.

In addition, at least two members of the men’s Norwegian national team have been confirmed infected, including national sprint team coach Arild Monsen.
“Covid infection is now more like a cold for those vaccinated; it’s not as dramatic as it was a few years ago. But it’s important to be smart and careful. We take the precautions we can,” says national team doctor Over Feragen to VG.
