In an unexpected turn of events, Otepää, Estonia, has relinquished its role as the organizer for this year’s Roller Ski World Championships. A new host has emerged, taking the reins of this prestigious event.

Set to commence on August 10, the stage is now set for athletes from around the globe to embark on a fierce quest for glory in the World Championships and Junior World Championships on roller skis. Initially slated to take place in the picturesque town of Otepää in Estonia, the location has now been shifted to the enchanting Italian city of Lissone/Lazzate, nestled within the Lombardy region.

The roller skiing season will kick off with great enthusiasm in mid-July with the World Cup in Kazakhstan, marking the official launch of international roller skiing World Cup competitions.

The Roller Ski World Championships and Junior World Championships program feature a series of races that will captivate fans and challenge athletes. On August 10, the competition will commence with the individual race in classic technique, featuring a 10-kilometer course for women and junior women and a demanding 15-kilometer course for men and junior men.

The excitement continues on August 11 with the mass start race in freestyle technique. Athletes will battle it out over a 25-kilometer course for women and men, while junior women and junior men will face a challenging 15-kilometer course.

On August 12, the sprint races will take center stage, showcasing the speed and agility of the roller skiers. Both women and men and junior women and junior men will demonstrate their lightning-fast skills in the freestyle technique.

Finally, on August 13, the event will culminate with the team sprint in freestyle technique.
