Norway’s Team to the World Cup in Davos
The Norwegian national team is bringing a total of 23 racers to the World Cup in Davos, Switzerland, this weekend. The team consists of 12 women and 11 men.
With the exception of Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, none of the skiers are racing both the sprint and the distance event in Davos.
Thomas Helland Larsen made a splash onto the World Cup in Lillehammer last weekend. The 23-year-old showed no respect for the established World Cup elite and finished second in the sprint final. He was rewarded with a spot on the sprint team for Davos, but has to sit out due to a cold.
In Helland Larsen’s absence, Even Northug will take his spot on the sprint team in Davos. Even Northug is the younger brother of Petter Northug, and has delivered strong sprint results on several occasions this winter. At the World Cup sprint in Lillehammer, Northug was tenth.
