Norwegian team for the Östersund World Cup

The third stage of the cross-country skiing World Cup season 2023/2024 starts in Östersund, Sweden this weekend. The Norwegian national team is now presented.

Östersund, Sweden, is the place for the third stage of this year’s cross-country skiing World Cup. The event starts on Saturday, December 9, with a sprint in classic technique, followed by a 10km interval start race in freestyle technique on Sunday, December 3.

In a press release, the Norwegian Ski Association has named their cross-country ski team for the upcoming World Cup premiere in Östersund. Norway will start with 24 athletes. On the women’s side, Norway will start with 11 skiers. Already on the men’s side, 13 athletes will start for the Scandinavian country. 

According to the press release, “Three skiers have free places for World Cup Östersund. It is Johannes Høsflot Klæbo and Tiril Udnes Weng, both winners of the 2022/2023 World Cup. Harald Østberg Amundsen has a free place as winner of the Scandinavian Cup 2022/2023. Unfortunately, Tiril Udnes Weng is still not ready for skiing, based on previous communication.”
