Norwegian team for the Trondheim World Cup

The fourth stage of the cross-country skiing World Cup season 2023/2024 starts in Trondheim, Norway this Friday. The Norwegian national team is now presented.

Trondheim, Norway, is the place for the fourth stage of this year’s cross-country skiing World Cup. The event starts on Friday, December 15, with a sprint in freestyle technique, followed by a 20km skiathlon on Saturday, December 16. The Trondheim World Cup ends with a 10km interval start race in classic technique on Sunday, December 17.

In a press release, the Norwegian Ski Association has named their cross-country ski team for the upcoming World Cup in Trondheim. Norway will start with 42 athletes. On the women’s side, Norway will start with 20 skiers. Already on the men’s side, 22 athletes will start for the Scandinavian country. 

According to the press release, “team selection for the World Cup on the ‘home track’ in Trondheim gives extra quotas with a total of 12 athletes per distance,” says national team manager Ulf Morten Aune, and adds:

“We are looking forward to an exciting World Cup and trial World Championships at home in the new Granåsen Ski Resort in Trondheim with many, good Norwegian skiers at the start this weekend. It is worth mentioning that, at the same time as the World Cup in Granåsen, the Scandinavian Cup takes place in Vuokatti, Finland. Some qualified
