Østberg Continues Her Cross-Country Skiing Career
Østberg wrote on her Instagram account that she thanks for 14 years on the national team and ads that the future will be different and challenging but is looking forward to it.
Ingvild Flugstad Østberg has had health issues in recent years, and now her dedication to cross-country skiing will be outside the Norwegian national team.
“Thank you so much for 14 fantastic years on the NSF national team @langrennslandslaget. I have experienced and achieved more than I could have ever dreamed of! The best thing is still all the people I’ve met – even made friends for life. The road ahead will be different and challenging, but I’m looking forward to working hard to become an even better skier.”
Ingvild Flugstad Østberg won Olympic gold in the team sprint at Sochi 2014 and gold in the 4x5km relay at Pyeongchang 2018. She won World Championship gold in the team sprint at Falun in 2015. Østberg has 17 individual wins, 9 team wins, and 71 individual podiums in the cross-country skiing World Cup.
