Solution found for Klæbo’s skis
Johannes Høsflot Klæbo is still without a contract, or so-called representation agreement, with the Norwegian Ski Association for the coming season, after he broke with the national team in April. Such an agreement is a prerequisite for Klæbo to be able to compete in the World Cup this winter.
Without a contract, the 26-year-old will not have access to help from the national waxing team.

In addition, Klæbo’s super wax tech, Frode Pedersen, has not renewed his contract with the Norwegian Ski Association and is, therefore, not part of the national team’s waxing. Pedersen has been responsible for Klæbo’s skis for several years.
Thus, there has long been an open question and concern about who will take care of the World Champion’s ski fleet this winter.
Tord Hegdahl, head of the Norwegian waxing team, told VG that they have now found a solution. Fischer, Klæbo’s ski supplier, is now taking over responsibility.
“We’ve discussed what’s important to do with the ski fleet in the spring, summer, and fall. We’ve helped him to record this for his ski supplier, who does a good job,” says Hegdahl.
Hegdahl took over as head of waxing for the Norwegian national cross-country skiing teams this spring when former head of waxing Stein Olav Snesrud moved to a newly created position as fluor-free coordinator in the Norwegian Ski Association.
Still unclear about responsibilities within the waxing team
However, it is not clear who in the Norwegian waxing team will be responsible for Klæbo’s ski fleet if Klæbo and the Norwegian Ski Association reach an agreement. But VG suggests that many things point in the direction of Mikael Book.
