by Leandro Lutz • 13.12.2022
The cross-country skiing World Cup heads to Davos in Switzerland this weekend, and the Swedish Team is presented. Pro Tour athletes Jenny Larsson, Team Ragde Charge, Frida Erkers, Team Eksjöhus, and Ida Dahl, Team Engcon, are named.

Davos, Switzerland, is the place of this year’s fourth stop for the cross-country skiing World Cup. The event begins on Saturday, December 17, with a sprint race in freestyle technique. And on Sunday, December 18, the World Cup weekend ends with a 20km individual start, also in freestyle technique.

In a press release, the Swedish Ski Association has named their cross-country ski team for the upcoming World Cup in Davos. Sweden will start with 18 athletes. On the women’s side, Sweden will begin with eight skiers. Already on the men’s side, ten athletes will start for the Scandinavian country.

“Now a World Cup weekend awaits in Davos at high altitude in the Swiss Alps. Several national team skiers are missing or have been sick so it will be partly a new squad this time,” says Swedish National Team Manager Anders Byström.

In this sense, Ski Classics Pro Tour athletes Jenny Larsson, Team Ragde Charge, Frida Erkers, Team Eksjöhus, and Ida Dahl, Team Engcon, are named and will start at the 20km individual start race in freestyle technique on Sunday. According to the press release, the athletes will arrive in Davos on Saturday evening after competing at La Venosta Criterium, a Ski Classics Pro Tour event.

“As I said, we are missing some skiers, but now we have the chance to also make room for talented long-distance skiers such as Ida Dahl, Jenny Larsson, and Frida Erkers. They all made good efforts during the premiere weekend in Bruksvallarna and are already acclimatized after the competitions in Austria (Bad Gastein Pro Team Tempo and Bad Gastein Criterium) last weekend,” says Anders Byström.
