Swedish Team For The World Cup Premiere
Ruka, Finland, is the place of this year’s World Cup premiere. The event begins on Friday, November 25, with a sprint race in classic technique. On Saturday, November 26, a 10km classic style race with individual start awaits. And on Sunday, November 27, the World Cup premiere weekend ends with a 20km pursuit race in freestyle technique.
In a press release earlier today, the Swedish Ski Association has named their cross-country ski team for the upcoming World Cup premiere in Ruka. Sweden will start with seventeen athletes. On the women’s side, Sweden will start with eight skiers. Already on the men’s side, nine athletes will start for the Scandinavian country.
“The premiere weekend in Bruksvallarna gave us interesting answers, and it looks like several of our most established skiers have succeeded well with the preparations,” says Anders Byström, National Team Manager, on the press release, and continues:
“Of those who have been selected, it is extra gratifying to be able to give a chance to relatively new skiers such as Ingrid Hallquist, Emil Danielsson, and Edvin Anger. All three have clearly made strides since last season,” concludes Byström.
