Julia Kern and Jessie Diggins were two of the skiers named to the US team for the 2023/2024 season.
With less than two months to go until the start of the World Cup season, the US cross-country ski team was officially presented for the 2023/2024 season.

In a press release, the US Ski & Snowboard has officially revealed the 23 athletes who will represent the national cross-country ski team during the upcoming 2023/2024 season. These athletes, who were nominated and accepted their spots on the national team back in May, were carefully selected based on established criteria. The team’s roster boasts a blend of seasoned veterans and promising newcomers, all gearing up to compete on the grand stage of cross-country skiing this November.

Among the athletes are notable names, including the accomplished Jessie Diggins, a three-time Olympic medalist and the reigning 2023 World Champion. Ben Ogden, the 2022/23 FIS Rookie of the Year, and two-time Olympian Rosie Brennan. Excitingly, the roster welcomes fresh talent, with five athletes earning their first call-up to the national team.

The 2023/2024 season promises to be a globe-trotting adventure for these athletes, but one remarkable highlight is the World Cup event scheduled for Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Chris Grover, the Program Director for the US cross-country ski team, expressed the team’s eagerness to begin the season after a rigorous preparation period:

“The US team is hungry to begin the 2023/2024 season after a very productive preparation period with excellent training opportunities at Mt. Bachelor in Oregon, the Torsby Ski Tunnel in Sweden, and the Snow Farm in New Zealand, among other locations,” said Grover and added:

“Training progress has been evident in the many outstanding performances by our athletes in major roller ski and running competitions around the globe. Although the entire season will be exciting to watch, some highlights from the team will include the Tour de Ski, which will include non-traditional longer events in both Toblach and Davos and, of course, our home World Cup at Wirth Park in Minneapolis.”
