Victoria Carl 10km freestyle winner in Muonio

The third and last day of the Finnish premiere weekend took place today in Muonio with a 10km individual race in freestyle technique for women and men. Victoria Carl (GER) won the women’s skate race.

In the women’s 10km individual race in freestyle technique, Victoria Carl (GER) took first place with a total time of 25:34.1. Eva Urevc (SLO) snagged second place, 33.4 seconds back, and Sophia Laukli (USA) completed the podium in third place, 3.8 seconds behind the winner.

Muonio FIS Races

The Finnish FIS season premiere in Muonio is known for drawing a large and solid international field. For many elite cross-country skiers, these races are an essential performance indicator for the World Cup in Ruka and a good thermometer for the winter.

The program in Muonio included a classic sprint race on Friday, a 10km classic race with individual start on Saturday, November 11, and a 10km freestyle race with individual start on Sunday, November 12. 

Around 300 athletes from 19 different countries took part in the FIS races.
